Historical photo postcards of the Deutsche Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft Hansa, founded in 1881 in Bremen, can be found here, espacially with images of steamboats “Rudelsburg”, “Lindenfels”, “Wachtfels” and “Lahneck”. In 1913 the company rose to the third largest shipping line in germany, owning 67 ships, by overseas trade with mainly India, but also Scandinavia and Russia.
Although the almost complete loss of the fleet twice, following both world wars, DDG Hansa temporary developed to be the largest heavy cargo shipping company in the world and later operated many container ships on lines at the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf. This is provable based on many images on collected postcards.
