Many historical postcards remind one of these impressive beauties. Hence, postcard lovers collect them.
The shipping company took on an important role over the course of the 20th century. It transported Scandinavian immigrants to North America, and operated also in the field of business and leisure trips. The ships’ ports were Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Halifax, and New York.
The shipping company and its impressive ships became Sweden’s pride back then. The fleet’s newest liner became even the flagship of Sweden’s merchant fleet. “Swedish American Line” could finally look back on more than 60 years’ company history when it found its end in 1975.
